Just Coz

I have managed to get some scrapping done. I am finding that I spend less and less time on a layout lately - I just don't have the time to spare. :(

Anyway these are a couple of 'just because' layouts. This one using some cute Crate paper pp's and using up some old Kaiser brads and BG chipboard stickers:

And this one of baby Darcie who, at this rate, will not be a baby for very much longer!

I have had my 'Pucker Up' layout accepted for publication too! I'm not too sure whether I should tell my hubby that his pouting face is now going to be in print! LOL

Recycling

I am currently having a big clean up and chuck out of anything that hasn't been used/worn etc in the last 12 months. Nothing is safe - not even Luke! LOL Anyway I was about to throw out a whole heap of old clothes that I know I will NEVER wear again and came across some t-shirts that I bought when I used to go to the Livid music festivals in Brisbane when I was a teenager. This weeks 52 Pick Up challenge was to use fabric and a tag on a layout. Soooo I decided to use one of my old shirts for the base of the layout. I found some pics of me and my bestie Kirsty at Livid so I scrapped them (I'm the one in the background poking out my tongue - so classy I know!):

I Love This Time of Year

The plants in my garden are starting to flower, there are heaps of gorgeous little poddy calves running around the paddocks and the weather is getting warmer.

We also have some baby Willy Wagtails. They have had a nest outside our bedroom window and now the babies are big enough to fly. They are so cute. The mum and dad Willy are very protective - they 'attack' all sorts of other birds that come near. The other day I spotted them attacking a kookaburra. The willy wagtail was actually sitting on its back.
I managed to snap a few piccies of the willy's having a splash under the sprinkler in the garden:

Speaking of babies, check out mine:

She is now 5 months old and growing much quicker than I would like her to. She can almost sit up by herself, is really good at picking things up and holding them and has started eating solids :

She loves banana and sweet potato (not together obviously! LOL). She sits there going 'Mmmmm' whenever she is eating so I'm pretty sure she's enjoying it!

A Bit More Scrapping

These are some more 52 Pick Up Challenges. I have now caught up! This one is for Helen's challenge - to make a fridge frame. It needed to have flowers and a word/quote:

And this layout is for Kerryn's challenge - to include hidden journalling. Here is mine - it looks a little 'busy'! LOL

And here it is again with the hidden journalling now not hidden anymore:

Cyber Cropping!

There is a CC currently happening over at Wicked Princesses. I have been having scrap withdrawals so I thought I would join in. This layout is for Kayla's challenge - use a photo of a celebration or birthday, a number and some bling/glitter etc. Here is mine:

This photo of Michala is so funny. Just moments before she had a grin from ear to ear when we were all singing 'happy birthday' to her. Then the wind blew the candle out and she started frowning! LOL

This next layout is for Kirsty's inspiration challenge:

Luke is probably going to kill me for using that photo of him! LOL

And this last layout is for Krissy's sketch challenge with the additional criteria of using colours inspired by party food. I once made Lachlan an aeroplane birthday cake that had black licorice and blue icing so I used those colours. Here is the result:

Another one...

to share. Another 52 Pick Up challenge in fact. For this challenge we had to use a piece of 12 x 12 corrugated cardboard as a base. I have also used some hessian, plastic mesh and barbed wire to go with the theme of the layout.

52 Pick Up

After being away, I am a little behind on my 52 Pick Up challenges at LSBS. I am determined to be caught up by the end of the week. Here are a couple I have managed to do already. For this one we had to use a picture on a tissue box for our inspiration and use a colour that is out of your comfort zone. I chose to draw my inspiration from the candles in the picture and use the colour purple - I avoid using purple for some reason.

I made the candles out of rolled paper. The journalling reads 'When I was little I always thought 30 was so old! But now that I am that age, I don't feel old at all!'.

For this challenge we had to use paper and embellishments that we have had for ages. You know when you just have to have something and 'save' it for the perfect layout and that layout never arrives - well those things. For mine I used some Chatterbox papers I have had forever and the embellishment stickers that were part of a pack also by Chatterbox. I kept the layout pretty simple:

What's Ad About?!? October

Better late than never! Here is the ad for you to draw your inspiration from this month at What's Ad About?!?. You must also use paint somewhere on your layout.

And here is my layout. I have drawn inspiration from the multiple photos and the captions underneath the photos.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

October Puzzles

Here are the puzzle pieces for this months challenge over at Puzzle Sketches. All of these elements were right up my ally.

I will share my examples once they are put up on the Puzzles blog. In the meantime, why not head over and check out what the other CT girls have done.

Some Scrapping...

It seems I arrived home at just the right time! This weekend is the October CC at LSBS so I thought I would play along to try and get the mojo happening again. This layout is for the sketch challenge. I have used some very sweet WRMK stuff on this one:

The photo of Michala was taken through one of those round plastic windows on a kids play thingy at the park. I love the effect. And this layout was for the inspiration challenge:

And as promised a pic of my baby at almost 5 months old:

So Much Happening!

We ended up in Brisbane again for all of last week. We were only supposed to be there for the weekend. Mum had to have a major op to remove part of her liver. All went well and she is on the slow road to recovery - poor thing! We were all happy to get home finally - it's so nice sleeping in your own bed.

Little Darcie is now almost 5 months old! She has adjusted really well to being a part of our family. She is always happy and doesn't mind all the travelling in the car we do. Sometimes you don't even notice she is there! She can now roll from her back to her front and back again. She has also discovered she has a voice! She squeals so loud that your ears hurt! LOL I will post some pics when I get myself organised.

I have a layout in the current issue of Scrapbook Creations. It's on page 85 in the Staples Gallery. Unfortunately it has been credited to someone else :( but I have been assured they will print a correction in a future issue. I haven't had too much time to do anything else on the scrapping front (except shop! LOL) but will hopefully get back into the swing of things this week.

This months challenges are up at What's Ad About?!? and Puzzle Sketches. I will be back to share my samples soon. Thanks for stopping by....
