Watch Out World...

I'm dieting!! It has now been six weeks since I had my c-section so I am ready to start losing some weight. I am following a low GI diet and even started with some light exercise this morning - a 30 minute walk. My initial aim is to fit back into my fave jeans from last year in time for my 30th in just over a month. Then after that I want to lose at least 20kg! So, it begins today.
Below are the little thank you cards I have been making for the lovely folk who gave us pressies etc after Darcie's birth. I even made little envelopes for them too!
And this is the inside - a little photo to keep:

Winter Storms

On Friday night we had the most bizarre weather for this time of year - storms. They came one after the other right up until 4am. We never get storms in June! And they were the type of storms where the thunder was a really deep rumble - it made the windows shake! I must admit though it was really nice to be snuggled up in bed with my flanny pj's and flanny sheets and listen to the rain on the roof. And this was what we woke up to in the morning:

It was kind of spooky with the cloud so low amongst the tree tops. And here is the sun hiding behind the clouds:

And we ended up with over 2 inches of rain! I have a very happy hubby!
I have been working on some thank you cards so I will share some pics when they are done! Hope you are loving your weekend!

One Month.....

already! Time seems to fly when you live in a haze of feeding, burping, nappy changes and crying! But we are coping - we're all still alive so that's a bonus! Darcie is a very windy baby (just like my other 2 were) so she has some unsettled moments but on the whole she is a good baby. I'm still only having to get up once a night to feed her so I am getting plenty of sleep and feel pretty good. She is just starting to make little noises and has almost cracked a smile on a few occasions - can't wait til she does!
I'll leave you with a few pics of my big boy. These are the faces you get when you try to take a decent photo of him at the moment. He thinks he's being funny - me, not so much!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend...

I'm Still Around

Just wanted to let you know that I am still alive and kicking. We have been having some computer issues - it keeps shutting itself down! Plus we have been away in Brisbane for a few days.

My little darling is already 1 month old! Have some pics to share but will upload when I get a bit more time - right now it's back to the washing and changing nappies!

A Shameless Plug! LOL

When I opened the mailbox today and saw the pizza box sitting there I was a little surprised. I was racking my brain trying to think of what scrappy stuff I had bought lately. Then I realised that it was a my layouts that had been published! Two in one issue!
This one had been accepted but I didn't know which issue it was going to be in so it was a bit of a surprise!

Gotta love happy mail!

And One More

This is challenge 24 of 52 Pick Up. The challenge was to use only stickers on the layout - even for embellishments. I kept it pretty simple:

So there you have it - another one ticked off the list! Now I'm off to change the sheets on the beds! Jealous? LOL

Some More Weekend Creations

I managed 2 more challenges from the LSBS cybercrop. This one was the guest designer challenge from Mel to use a mosaic technique. It took ages but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
And this layout is for the inspiration challenge - we had to photograph and do a layout about our feet! I had a bit of trouble getting the photo right - I wanted to have both my feet in the picture but couldn't lift them both up high enough (I didn't want to do any damage after the caesar). I must have looked pretty funny lying in the dirt in the middle of the paddock trying to photograph my feet.

So that is all the creating I managed for the weekend. I'm hoping to get a little bit more done this week. I have some yummy Basic Grey Lime Rickey stuff I am dying to play with and some cute Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts as well!

Cybercropping

It's cybercrop time at LSBS this weekend and I managed to actually complete one of the challenges! This was the sketch challenge where we had to also add a little bit of ephemera as well. I used Darcie's hospital bracelet and the little clip off the cord. Hope the photo doesn't grose you out too much!

I might see if I get a chance tonight or tomorrow to do a few more challenges. Oh how I have missed scrapping!

Challenge 22

We are up to Challenge 22 in 52 Pick Up at LSBS. So far I have managed to stay up to date with the challenges. This challenge was to use as many patterned papers as you could. I managed 7 - not a very good effort really but I am using up these American Crafts pp's. Here is my layout:

I Managed to Scrap!

Recovering from a c-section sure has it's advantages!! Because Luke is being the house husband and there really isn't much for me to do while Darcie is asleep - I did some scrapping! This layout is for Challenge 21 of 52 Pick Up at LSBS. This challenge was to use your Junk Mail/brochures on a layout and no patterned paper. I used a brochure that you get out of those new mothers bags you get at the hospital. Here it is:

I'm not sure that I am all that happy with it. I might have left my mojo somewhere between here and Kingaroy hospital! LOL

Little Darcie has been a real little angel so far. Sure she has her moments (don't all new babies) but she is feeding well and is only waking once during the night for a feed. Touch wood that she keeps that up! Lachlan and Michala argue over who gets to put her dummy back in when she spits it out and they almost smother her when giving her cuddles.

Thanks for all your lovely comments in my last post. Mwah!
